Description
For the fun little promo for the OC contest 'Artist at the Ready' that should be held sometime over the summer.
To promote it artists (weather they are going to enter the contest or not) are drawing themselves and their OCs. Poster style with just line art and plane white with a DA gray background.
Since I have so many main Characters for World is on Fire, (14 to be exact) I decided to break them up into two posters. The soldiers (you are here) and the 'heroes' ([link])
Who's who? : (Starting at the bottom and going counterclockwise)
Myself : Just me; artist by trade I've been drawing all my life, I started drawing the cast of World is on Fire back freshman year of high school (that was nearly 8 years ago o.O ) They've been through many revisions since then and this is the final result.
Rot and Decay : Twin brothers, Rot (the long haired one) and Decay (the short haired one) share a rather disturbing incestuous relationship. Their skin is highly acidic and not quite solid, Rot takes a great deal of pleasure in hiding sharp objects in his skin.
Affliction : Originally suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder [link] and Schizophrenia Mania [link] from severe physical abuse as a child. Affliction now possesses two heads (brothers) and a mismatched body that would make you cringe. They are highly telepathic and telekinetic. They wear a straitjacket to keep them from acting out their uncontrollable masochistic tendencies.
Extinction : Easily the most massive character I have, Extinction stands at over 10 ft from head to tail. Her interests lie in bestiality (though she is only interested in other females) She communicates in growls and roars, purrs and barks, but despite this she can understand human (or otherwise) speech and is just as intelligent if not more so. Her roar is loud enough to burst a human eardrum and she can bend the will of any animal she comes across.
Captivity : An absolutely beautiful woman Captivity is a gymnast and contortionist by trade. She can bend in ways that seem imposable and has strength that outshines superman (From what I've seen in his books Superman has difficultly lifting an oil tanker, so I suppose then she really has strength closer to Goku (if I have to compare it to someone) who appears to have no such difficulty) Captivity is in love with Ruin (to the left) and her dream is to someday have a child even though all the soldiers are sterile.
Ruin : A doctor by trade; yet Ruin also enjoys performing horrific experiments on individuals he finds interesting. He is in love with Captivity (to the right) and has dedicated a good deal of his time to trying to cure their sterility. Ruin rarely isn't injured in some way, due to his abolition to self detonate, he swiftly regenerates afterward but the recovery isn't ever total, he will fully regenerate but only over time.
Slaughter : Despite her tiny size and obviously young age Slaughter is the in command of the soldiers and answers to no one save their 'leader' whom she is obsessively in love with. Slaughter is highly skilled at hand to hand combat and her weapons respond to her will and transform into any sort of weapons she desires (save for guns) She clothes (and skin if she isn't wearing any) are constantly stained with the bloody hand prints of her sister, something she refuses to acknowledge or discuss. She also has issues with mirrors, periodically smashing them with little to no warning.
Famine : Famine's most notable feature would be his multiple mouths and lack of mouth where one would expect it to be. He has a total of 7, the largest on his abdomen, one on the palm of each hand, and 4 on long retractable esophagi located on his back. Famine is capable of eating anything weather it is food or not, his teeth can rip through any material, and if that 'material' happens to be a person Famine can gain any of their strengths or abilities (as is the belief of cannibalism) Despite all of this Famine has a hyper fast metabolism and is in a constant state of starvation.
Envy : Lastly we have sweet little Envy, Envy is technically a hermaphrodite though they have no reproductive organs to speak of. Made up of parts from many people and one unfortunate little girl (Who envy takes the form of periodically and caries a likeness of her in the form of doll) When Envy speaks it sounds like a room of people all talking in unison; Envy refers to themselves as "I", "we", and "Envy". Envy possessive the powers of voodoo and will use this to console weak willed individuals and humanoid inanimate objects, periodically Envy will transform a doll in to an exact likeness of an individual or transform an individual into a doll. They are really quite playful and a pleasure to be around if they like you.
