Doing a nice brand new series of the 'Word is on Fire' combat classes. All new and improved and bright and shiny.

As their name might suggest, Elementalist, are all about pure elemental power. While their species has the natural ability of elemental kinesis an Elementalist takes it to an entirely new level. A gout of fire becomes a supernova, a wave, a shard of ice, become a tsunami and a blizzard.

This sharp rise in shear power stems from their ability to ignore the transition of energy to other forms, i.e. energy cannot be destroyed, only transformed, the Elementalist is able to access this transformed energy; a skill normally only available to their kind when using a specific transformation. Access to such dominating power has lead to strict mental discipline and focus on control and understanding. These practices have lead to essential abilities for this combat class. Elementalists understand the construction of all elements, this goes far beyond, water, air, earth, and fire; as such it is a simple matter of altering them or breaking them down.

In the break down, Elementalists force the molecules in said elements to break their bonds, armor is rendered useless; weapons fall apart in their wielder’s hands, with but a touch.

This ability extends into the creation or reconstruction of elements, forged from preexisting elements or with the energy normally lost to entropy. In reconstruction the elements are altered into new ones on the molecular level; bonds are severed and water collapses and catches flame, the air twists and condenses to earth, dissolves to sand, ignites to molten glass.

These skills can make the normally fragile Elementalist into a walking force of nature, and for those with the knack for clear understanding it is a simple task to perform great feats; such as generating a miniature sun and accelerating it’s life cycle to form a black hole. It is easy to see why they have been sometimes described as, ‘Those who walk amongst the stars and cradle the universe in their hands.'

Weapons

Elementalists tend to travel light; they do not use heavy or cumbersome weapons, as they use their weapons primarily for training or emergency purposes. They tend to prefer items like staves or spears, items that can keep opponents at a relative distance if they are forced to resort to them. Other popular weapons include short blades and daggers, or other small hand held types. The most popular choice of armament however are gauntlets, both light and heavy armored, bladed and non.
